Video: mewithoutYou – The (Fantastic Mr.) Fox, The Crow, and The Cookie

“Let’s Hear That String Part Again, Because I Don’t Think They Heard It All the Way Out In Bushnell” – Sufjan Stevens

So I just saw Wes Anderson’s latest film The Fantastic Mr. Fox, and I really liked it a lot. The movie reminds me of mewithoutYou’s latest music video “The Fox, The Crow, and The Cookie.” In an interview with Alternative Press, singer Aaron Weiss said “the title and plot are taken almost directly from a children’s story by Bawa Muhaiyaddeen that my mom used to read to me. It’s from a book called My Love You, My Children. [It was] one of my favourites. When I was a little boy, to see those drawings and hear the stories, they were always very simple but had a powerful impact.”

And guess what?!? mewithoutYou will be performing on the main stage at The Cornerstone Festival on June 30th (conveniently only about 20 minutes from my house!). I first saw them at Cornerstone a couple of years ago, and I’ve been a fan ever since It’s All Crazy! It’s All False! It’s All a Dream! It’s Alright was released in May 2009, and this one gets a lot of plays in my car from beginning to end, so I’m stoked to see them in Bushnell, Illinois!

Listen to a couple of my faves:
