Beck’s Record Club – Sunday Morning

Beck’s website is pretty bitchen. Back in June he launched a section called “Record Club” that features weekly videos of Beck and his friends re-recording entire albums. The first one is The Velvet Underground & Nico. Here’s what he has to say about it:

Record Club

We’ve been working on changes to the website for the last few months. We’ll be adding new sections as they’re ready. The first one to be added is called Record Club, an informal meeting of various people to record an album in a day. An album will be chosen to be reinterpreted and used as a framework. Nothing rehearsed or arranged ahead of time. A track will be uploaded once a week on beck.com as well as through the web sites of those involved with the project.

Hopefully they’ll be able to release these as full albums. Anyway, it’s a pretty awesome idea and you should check out Beck’s Record Club for yourself. And check out one of the VU covers right here:
