Let me first note that I FUCKING LOVE THIS NEW RECORD. I’m not a huge TV on the Radio fan but jesus christ, that first track chops my soul into tiny pieces and if I had money I’d probably get tickets to one of the shows at the wiltern. So good. Now for the news that you’ve probably already heard somewhere else:
Massive Attack have announced their first North American tour in four years, in support of their latest studio effort, Heligoland. The North American dates will kick off May 7th in Toronto, ON and will wrap a few weeks later at this year’s Sasquatch Festival in George, WA. The duo will play 2 shows in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco with general on sale beginning March 5th.
After its February 9th release on EMI’s Virgin Records, Heligoland, debuted at #46 on the Billboard 200, marking the highest U.S. chart position of Massive Attack’s career. An all star cast joined founding members Robert Del Naja (3D) and Grand Marshall (Daddy G), which included Damon Albarn, Mazzy Star’s Hope Sandoval, Martina Topley-Bird, Elbow’s Guy Garvey and TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe.
