Hello It’s Me — Todd Rundgren
Todd Rundgren played a show in SF tonight. He played lots of new songs from his forthcoming album Arena (2008), you can hear some of the tracks from his new album on his myspace page. It was two hours of classic rock, he tried to do some jump kicks that almost worked, toward the end he took off his shirt and displayed his aging pasty white body, lots of funny commentary inbetween songs and the crowd ranged from young blond screaming girls to really old fat conservative men to devout middle aged rocker fans to me.
While hanging out near the front of the stage, I met a guy that had on a Toddstock shirt, we were chatting it up so I asked what the shirt was all about — the story — Todd recently threw a huge party at his house in Hawaii and he invited a bunch of fans to come camp for a few days to eat lots of food, drink lots of beer and relive the gender bending hippy party glory the 60’s forever revel in. Todd and his former model wife hung out all week and made sure organic food and alcohol remained plentiful which is totally rad and I officially have my feelers out so I do not miss the next Toddstock.

I haven’t seen Todd on the Arena tour yet, however, I have heard the new album and all I can say is WOW.

Awesome commentary on your blog.. I loved the insight: The once-upon-a-time boy wonder who always reinvented the rock landscape with every new album he released, now, at the ripe age of 60, makes bands like the Strokes and the Killers seem redundant.

Arena rock landslide rock and roll from the true master that is Todd. Go get ‘em cowboy! The new songs are out of this world.
