The Damned - 2008 Tour Dates
Fun fact about yours truly: when I was 16 I was in a car with a bunch of people who were way older than I was, and knew way more about music than I did, and somehow we got on the subject of punk - I was probably trying to find some music we would all agree on - so I put on a compilation CD I’d gotten in Finland when I was like 12, and skipped to track 2 - New Rose, by The Damned. Before pressing play I told my fellow passengers, “The Damned are like this punk band from the 70’s…” I don’t remember much of the circumstances surrounding that ridiculous statement, but I do know that some of the people who were in that car are actually still my friends (for whatever reason…) and that they still haven’t let me live it down. How was I supposed to know it would EVER sound as ridiculous as it did?
Anyway, Rat Scabies and the rest of The Damned will be touring again in 2008 - not that this seems to be a very rare occurance, but it probably should be. I mean, they’re no Wire Sex Pistols Killing Joke WTF?! Who am I supposed to compare them to if they’re ALL touring again?
Oh oh I got it! They’re no Adicts Buzzcocks Cramps. Jesus. Is nothing sacred unless you’re dead?

yes they will be touring, but not with scabies, much of a clash of egos between scabies and sensible and they haven’t spoken in a long time, the damned seem to have even disowned the scabies penned “i’m alright jack” album, which was not a bad album even if it did wear its mc5 albums on its sleeve. They have a young feller named pinch behind the kit, a bald feller on bass and an arsehole on keyboards, but vanian and sensible are still there and i will be down the front for a few dates for the 24th consecutive year.
