Sketch for C4’s Summer: Buzznet, Warped Tour, and The Durutti Column

Sooo now there’s another online events listing. But I’m pretty sure this one is (or will be soon) better than the other 23423555. Buzznet is creating something that isn’t just another online events site, but something more like a history of live music. I’m not saying this just cause I work there. I’m serious. Anyone who knows me (or doesn’t) likely knows that I’ve got the 411 on the webstuff that’s hot, and web stuff that’s not. You can probably find me on any social network that has ever existed, as well as on the ones that don’t exist yet. And as I’m sure you’ve noticed, most of the social networking sites based around event listings have the same features virtually the same features. The difference is really that some just look better than others. But sites like going.com, upcoming.org, last.fm events, ohmyrockness.com, eventful.com, tourb.us, and myspace events lack one essential element: the social part. With Buzznet Tours, Buzznet has essentially added a new feature to its already existing and extremely active music community. It has the event listing, it has the guest list, and it has the media upload feature but PEOPLE ACTUALLY USE IT. There’s also an interactive map that will eventually be embeddable.
