We at the weapon definitely dig Warpaint, and we’re also pretty stoked to hear that we’re gonna get to see ‘em with Yeasayer next month. The rest of the country gets ‘em with Akron/Family which ain’t too shabby, either. Dig some tunes and videos Continue reading Warpaint – ‘Elephants’ Video, Tour With Akron/Family…

Nada Surf Announce Spring Tour Dates, Album Of Cover Songs

Nada Surf bring their trademark sense of harmony and musical craftsmanship to 12 of their favorite songs with their latest release, if i had a hi-fi, their first album of covers. Only a group with their wide-ranging and eclectic taste could bring songs from such artists as Kate Bush, Dwight Twilley and the Go-Betweens together into a coherent, intelligent record. hi-fi also includes some intriguingly obscure numbers like Spanish band Mecromina’s “Evolution” and Bill Fox’s power-pop Continue reading Nada Surf Tour & Album Of Cover Songs…

Forever Basting in Felch Juice, Cattle Decapitation

Even though I got over this band when I was like 16, and traded my cowprint vinyl LP for Carey’s Problem and Bowie’s Hunky Dory I still feel compelled to bring you some Cattle Decapitation news. Maybe cause they were kind of ridiculously awesome, or because they’re playing Stonehenge (EPIC!), or perhaps because of the way they ended this message. Whatever the reason, the San Diego burp metal band have issued the following Continue reading Forever Basting in Felch Juice, Cattle Decapitation…

You’ve all heard both of these songs already, and we probably woulda posted them ages ago had it not been for STUPID *****host breaking our FREAKING servers every other day. WE THE PEOPLE MUSIC FESTIVAL RESCHEDULED FOR 2010

LOS ANGELES – The 2009 “We The People” Festival originally scheduled for Nov. 21 has been postponed until early 2010. PARTY WEIRDO Festival Saturday Nov. 14th

Not really sure how I missed this one guys, considering the fact that I live like 2 miles away from where this shindig’s gonna go down, and 2 or 3 of my friend’s bands are playing. Better late than never though, hmm? If you don’t have plans, now you do. Unless you’re like me and you don’t have 10 bucks to spend on it. So someone go, support the crew, be stoked that some awesome tunes are gonna be live within walking distance from your house – without the support of the Continue reading PARTY WEIRDO Festival Saturday Nov. 14th…

The Funniest Man In America: Neil Hamburger

He has a few records out but a couple years ago he put one called Neil Hamburger Sings Country Winners and it’s basicaly the funniest thing ever. Los Angeles (and other parts of the country), Neil Hamburger will be performing at Spaceland on November 29th, and he’ll be doing some comedy stuff, also at Spaceland, on October 25th. I’m tired so I’m gonna go to sleep now (yes at 9:45pm on a Saturday) – but dig all this other Continue reading The Funniest Man In America: Neil Hamburger…

Ezra Furman & the Harpoons = Violent Femmes v.2

I’ve been waiting forever to find the right time to post this. Once someone asked me, “Are there any CURRENT bands that I could go see now that are awesome and rock like Violent Femmes?” I had a really hard time coming up with an answer, and finally settled on Tapes n’ Tapes, but still didn’t feel like it was the right answer. A few months later I heard this fucking fantastic song on the radio, and if someone asked me who was like the femmes that they could go see now, I’d tell Continue reading Ezra Furman & the Harpoons = Violent Femmes v.2…

The show is part of Cypress Hill’s Smokeout, and while Sublime might get the most attention, the lineup includes a ton of your favorites. Scheduled to hit the stage on Oct. 23 and 24 Continue reading Sublime Reunion (Again) – at Smokeout 2009…
