(LISTEN) Brian Eno – 2 Tracks From Small Craft On A Milk Sea
Posted on October 17, 2010 | 1 CommentWe here at the Weapon absolutely love (most) Brian Eno stuff. In fact, we actually used Mr. Eno as the subject of a “Composer Report” for a music theory class in college, and incidentally we own absolutely everything the man has ever released, and almost... -
The Black Heart Procession – Blood Bunny/Black Rabbit (REVIEW)
Posted on September 24, 2010 | No CommentsWhen The Black Heart Procession broke their three-year silence with last year’s critically-lauded comeback, Six, it showcased the iconic band born from the self-imposed hiatus of Three Mile Pilot returning to its roots, crafting the kind of minimalist noir ballads that made them so beloved in the first place. Posted on September 24, 2010 | 1 CommentKEIN HASS DA sprechen sie Bad Brains en deutsch. And they fucking rule. Seriously, these german dudes are really just a bad brains tribute band, except for one difference: they've re-done 25 Bad Brains songs from 78-89 - IN GERMAN. I guess they also wrote their own lyrics and they'll be releasing a CD & book called Hirntrafo, complete with illustrations and comics, on November 5th.

CILLA K.’s Debut Release is HOT
Posted on June 6, 2010 | 5 CommentsI’m not really a fan of most hip-hop or urban soul. There, I said it. And it’s not really cause I don’t like it as much as it’s the sheer fact that a lot of it just isn’t very interesting. It sounds the same, or... -
Melvins Release New Album – Stupid Name, Good Tunes
Posted on June 6, 2010 | No CommentsLet me just preface by saying it's late and I'm tired - I do dig the new Melvins track (see below) but haven't gotten my hands on a copy of the new album so I can't really say much about it, except for the name is super cheesey and I hate it. C'mon, really? The Bride Screamed Murder? Hopefully the tunes will cancel out the album name. Anyway, dig some words on the subject (my favorite of which is 'soul-crushing') that didn't come from my fingertips:
