Rebekah Raa of Stricken City is hot. Oh and her band is pretty good too.

Stricken City are from London Town. They’re pretty good. They’re also everything anyone could ever need from a Rock ‘N’ Roll band in the summertime. I’m serious. Check the list:

  • They’ve got a hot female vocalist who plays the korg and can actually sing (Rebekah Raa)
  • Their songs are full of super-fun beats fit for any road trip or dance party (road trip dance party!?!?!)
  • Their whole E.P. is available for FREE download via the official Stricken City site. It’s called “Tik o Tak/Bardou” and I have absolutely no idea what that means. Whatever. Go get it anyway, even if it sits in your itunes with a play count of 0 until your hard drive crashes and you forget about it. Alls you gotta do to get the downloads is give ‘em your email address so they can send you label updates that you’ll probably just end up deleting anyway.
  • The rest of the band members have some totally british names. Maybe thats cause they’re british. (Iain Pettifer – Guitar, Espen Dahl – Bass, and Kit Godfrey – Drums.
  • They totally sound like the Slits meets Bjork. It’s weird and you’ll probably hate it. I’m a liar.

Speaking of weird shit: if you’re into that kind of thing, this video isn’t for you but you should probably watch it anyway. Check out the video for Stricken City’s new song “Tak o Tak.” The video is basically just 3 or so minutes of the super hot Rebekah Raa being cute in front of a camera. Oh and there’s like, some pink feathers and a couple dudes who play some musical instruments in it, too.

The band’s debut single is set to drop via Adventures Close To Home (ATCH) Recordings on July 28th as a limited edition 7 inch. Preview two out of three unreleased tracks right here, and cruise to their myspace profile or their official websites at strickencity.com to snag a few more! Don’t forget to pre-order the upcoming release from ATCH!
