This is a pretty shocking article, to be honest. The shocking part isn’t that the members of No Age were asked NOT to wear their pro Obama tshirts while taping for the Late Late show with Craig Ferguson – the shock comes when you find out that they actually played the show after being asked to remove the shirts. For the record: I don’t have a problem with their decision to play. I mean, I am a little piqued that the network actually thought it was OK to ask the boys NOT to display their political preference on national television – it’s No Age for chrissake. Who does CBS think they’re dealing with here? But take note: I am not in any way bothered by the fact that No Age decided to go through with the taping. Just shocked. I mean, I’m totally an LA native and I was around when they played that impromptu performance in the LA river, and when they did a whole bunch of other crazy shit. It just doesn’t seem like something they’d consent to.
It’s all good, though, dudes. Even though NOFX were allowed to play Franco Un American on Conan, it’s cool. Read No Age’s take on the situation if you need proof that they haven’t “sold out”.
