NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK
Notice, please, that this post’s headline does not say “New kids on the blog.” but that it does in fact say “NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK.” That’s no typo, folks. I figured that because our genius tag-line “New kids on the blog” (which took its first breath of life in Cody’s Midfield General post) is so similar to the most obscenely popular boy band of my generation “New Kids On The Block,” I should probably tell you guys what I found at 5am when I was googling my own website (yes, again). Just 7 days ago VH1.com posted the news: New Kids on the Block will be reuniting. *cue screaming teenaged girls* Joey McIntyre, Jonathan Knight, Donnie Wahlberg, Jordan Knight and Danny Wood, (all 5 original members!) will take part in the fiasco uh…I mean, fiesta, which will kick off live on the May 17th airing of The Today Show (May 17th). Ohhh but that is not all: the New Kids are working on a brand new album. MOVE OVER JACKSON FIVE, cause this is gonna be radical reunion….!

Apparently they have no idea that the only reason we all liked them so much they sold 70 million records and every girl at your junior high had NKOTB! sheets on her bed WAS BECAUSE WE ALL THOUGHT THEY WERE CUTE. But, my friends, there is nothing cute about grown men singing lyrics like, “Yeah, people keep on fronting on the Beantown posse / But it’s time to step up to the stand / ‘Cause we ain’t going out like that / Back, huh, stronger than ever, did you think we’d sever?”
From all the little girls who had every single one of your cassette tapes/tshirts/dolls/lifesized cardboard cut outs: Tiger Beat doesn’t feature middle-aged men on its cover, and even though you WERE the hugest boy band, like, ever, I really doubt they’ll make an exception.
Don’t embarrass yourselves.
Note to all: Even though it’s totally going to suck, I’m sooooo gonna be watching the today show on May 17th…
