Gang Of Four, one of the most radical and important groups of the last thirty years, are proud to announce a headlining tour of North America beginning February 4th in Toronto, ON. The band will tour in support of their upcoming album, C O N T E N T, their first new material in 16 years. Set for a January 25h release on Yep Roc Records (whose website is down, otherwise I would’ve tossed a link in here), C O N T E N T is “every bit as powerful and insightful as their classic work that has influenced many.” Y’know, like The Rapture and Bloc Party, who I kinda refuse to listen to because they refuse to be original.
But I love Gang of Four. I can’t imagine it’d be worth buying a ticket to this tour, but I love them just the same. If you’ve seen them and you can honestly say my assumption is wrong, please leave a comment telling me so because if the show is good I DO want to go.
Listen to the new track, Never Pay For The Farm – it’s decent, kinda. Kinda. I mean – I probably won’t buy it, but if you wanna buy it for me I’ll take it, and if you wanna buy me a ticket to the show I’ll go, but I’m totally leaving after they play At Home He Feels Like A Tourist, Damaged Goods, and Anthrax. And maybe I Love A Man In Uniform, too.
