Upcoming, as of yet still Untitled Autolux Release (and two old songs)

When Trent Reznor followed Radiohead’s lead and released his latest album online at pay-whatever rates, it nearly topped his past announcement that Autolux would support NIN’s fall ’05 tour. Some serious respect for Mr. Reznor is due, regardless of how his new album sounds.

Autolux’s noisy sci-fi debut Future Perfect is billions and billions times cooler than anything in my new music galaxy. That they get compared to Silversun Pickups seems unfair to both bands. No disrespect to anyone, I know everybody’s friends, I just think the wrong group had their music video on On Demand. When Autolux released Future Perfect in 2004 they toured with some huge names (Elvis Costello?!?!) and played an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. I’ve waited quietly for almost three years for their second album. Now if a Billboard Article can be trusted, I can finally hear “Dylan Thomas and Stephen Hawking mixed together” and you can expect to see more people at their Coachella set!
