Lady Lay – Another Cover of “I Love How You Love Me”

Lady Lay is a very fresh voice, I'm awaiting an electro track she sang vocals on and as soon as I get it I will post it, should be within the next couple weeks. After climbing out of the shadows of Jesus and taking over the heart of Rome, I've learned a few things that I won't share because then I won't have complete dominion anymore, but trust me, it's been hard wearing gold and sitting alone in the Vatican sifting through my delusions and fantasies, but thankfully I have my bishops, alter boys and the millions of supporters all over the world that love me and understand that I am perfect and in direct contact with our lord and savior. -
Caveman Glam: Sludgehammer

Dude uses a bass (that's it!) and belts out crass lyrics about men, women, drag, whatever the fuck he wants; he's so minimal that it's almost like he's lost his mind. At first glance I was almost surprised Sludgehammer was old enough to get into the bar, but once he starts singing in his deep manly voice and his muscles begin to flex while he plays bass, It becomes clear - he has a few years under his punk rock belt.

Agent Ribbons is a two piece (both pieces are totally hot babes) who play bluesy, indie-pop inspired rock; they remind me of early Rilo Kiley, or Tanya Donelly. Or maybe even something like Camera Obscura (Glasgow, not San Diego).

Carolee Resurrects Nineties Drone

Little Jinder, BIG Misunderstanding
Posted on August 5, 2008 | No CommentsLittle Jinder is Scandinavian, which means she can make whatever sorta noises she wants to (usually electronic ones) and no matter how stupid or not stupid those noises may be, Americans will always buy her record and talk about how whimsical they feel when they listen to it. I've been looking all over the net trying to figure out what her last name (Jinder) means in Swedish, and the only definition I've found is a totally retarded one from Urban Dictionary. Kinda like her lyrics - "I miss you/like coffee in/this fatal dream..." What the hell does that mean?

The Younger Lovers – Gravy Train Sideproject

The album was released Retard Disco (Bad dudes...), and its title makes it pretty obvious - this album is mos def a return to 80's New Romanticism, with Punk Rock tendencies. Retard Disco bills the work as a response to the vast majority of queer artists moving toward pop/electronic sounds.

Outside Lands Music Festival
Posted on August 2, 2008 | No CommentsAfter a long weekend at the Coachella Festival a few years back, I got on my knees and prayed to the RICH that they would create a festival with an equally amazing line up but in a climate conducive to large crowds and excessive partying. Thankfully, the RICH answer prayers because this summer, AUGUST 22nd thru AUGUST 24th, Outside Lands is throwing the party of the summer in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.
