Outside Lands Music Festival
After a long weekend at the Coachella Festival a few years back, I got on my knees and prayed to the RICH that they would create a festival with an equally amazing line up but in a climate conducive to large crowds and excessive partying. Thankfully, the RICH answer prayers because this summer, AUGUST 22nd thru AUGUST 24th, Outside Lands is throwing the party of the summer in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. It’s the first festival of this magnitude to be thrown in Golden Gate Park and I am too excited! I don’t plan on sleeping until it’s over! Ok, well, maybe I’ll sleep a little.
But think about it: instead of scorpions and rattlesnakes there will be domestic buffalo and quirky homeless men.
And check out the line-up: Radiohead, Beck, Manu Chao, The Black Keys, Cold War Kids, M. Ward, Devendra Banhart, Matt Nathanson, Two Gallants, Liars, Donavon Frankenreiter, Nellie McKay, The Cool Kids, Andrew Bird, Wilco, Broken Social Scene…etc, etc, etc.
The only band on the list who I honestly hate is Jack Johnson. But his set’s on the final night and I’m sure there will be a rave tent I can go to… who’s going?! Lets drop some E together and call it a weekend!
