The Cure, New and Old

The Cure

I’m not really sure what it is about The Cure, but I love them. Always have. I used to have a whole wall covered in Robert Smith when I was 13 - a big wall. And my mom bought me Galore when I got straight A’s in 8th grade (it was the only one I didn’t have). I saw ‘em at a M.A.D. TV taping, and I went home 3 hours early on Halloween in 8th grade just to make sure I hit record on time, to tape their Madison Square Garden show from start to finish. I’ve seen ‘em 6 times, and next Saturday that 6 will be a 7. To tell you the truth, I wasn’t really that stoked on it. I mean, initially I was, cause my mom bought me (really good) tickets for Christmas, but the feeling kinda wore off and I almost didn’t wanna go anymore.

Maybe I feel like the nostalgia is gonna make me visit some stuff I don’t wanna visit. Too much information….whatever. My point is really just that I’M GONNA SEE THE CURE NEXT WEEKEND AND I’M TOTALLY STOKED.

I got a new phone too so expect a video (or at least some photos) next Sunday.

Thoughts on the new single? It sounds like stuff I love. Die hards get ready to bash my teeth in: my favorite Cure song is Mint Car.

HA!

The Cure will release a new single on the 13th of every month until the whole album is out, and then they’ll release the full record. Click here to hear the first one, called “The Only One.”
